Will Timbren Kit on a 2020 Ford F-250 Level Out a Weight Distribution System

Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/15/2024

Question:

I have a Ford F250 Tremor has F350 rear leaf springs and I had the truck leveled. I tow a trailer with 1000lbs tongue weight. With my WDH, the truck still sags in the rear since my factory rake was eliminated with the level kit. Would the Timbren SES keep my truck level when towing?

Thanks for reaching out, Jason!

A Timbren kit will help to keep your 2020 Ford F-250 level, yes. There are a few problems with this though; the only rear Timbren kit to fit your truck is the Kit # TFRTT350J which is for Severe Service vehicles so it will be far too stiff for your application. Instead, it would be better to use the SumoSprings # SSR-129-47-2 which won't be as stiff.

With all of that being said, I think the main problem you might be facing is a weight distribution system that doesn't have the correct rating, since a properly rated system will level out the whole towing setup. If you can let me know what system you're using and what the loaded tongue weight is on your trailer, I can help make sure you have the correct kit for your setup.

Hey Jason, what ended up working to keep your F-250 level when towing your trailer? Your results could really help others deciding between the Timbren and SumoSprings options. Once you had the right setup dialed in, did it smooth out the ride the way you wanted?
