Hi Dave; a lock like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # e98880 doesn't have an actual weight rating. This is going to be stronger than the rest of your towing components by a large margin. Your hitch/vehicle would fail long before the hitch lock did.
