Does Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset Work With Gen-Y Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box

I want to use the Curt Multi-Fit 4" offset gooseneck ball kit C68ZV with my 2024 Ford F350 SRW CCLB 6.7 w/ OEM gooseneck prep to tow my 5th wheel Lippert 1621HD 3K pin weight using the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD - 30K GTW - 4.5K TW GY38FR. The Curt offset ball kit provides 4" of aft offset and the ball itself is 4 inches higher than a standard Reese ball. Both of these dimensions appear to improve the tight clearance issues I will have towing with the Gen Y GY38FR. I need to know specifically if the Curt 4" offset gooseneck ball is fully compatible with the GenY gooseneck pin box, including the use of the Gen-Y SnapLatch coupler mechanism for auto latching.

Good questions and I can verify for you that yes, the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD # GY38FR is fully compatible with the Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset for Factory Gooseneck Hitches # C68ZV.
The Gen-Y pin box will still automatically latch onto the Curt gooseneck ball as well so you'll get the full functionality of the pin box.
The only other thing you'll need are the safety chains, the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY49GR.

Hi Kurt, how did the setup go with the Curt offset gooseneck ball and the Gen-Y pin box on your F350? It’d be great to hear if the auto-latch and clearance worked as expected. Your update could make it easier for others towing with a similar setup.
