Replacing 24-1/4" Slipper Springs On A 4x6 Carry On Trailer

Updated 09/10/2024 | Published 09/03/2024

Question:

I have a 4x6 Carry-on trailer that i bought from Tractor Supply years ago. my slipper springs measure 24-1/4 from center eye to end, which is in spec with Carry -On direct replacement . Im looking for a softer ride because i never have anywhere close to that on the trailer. Will your 24-5/8 inch slipper spring work in this application , its slightly longer but rated well below what my 200 axle is rated for ? I assume its fine but wanted to ask before i order. My spring hangers measure like 22-1/2inch from the front hole center to the front face of the slipper bracket

Hello JT, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the 24-5/8" long 3-Leaf Slipper Spring # e99SR will indeed work to replace your 24-1/4" long springs. When replacing leaf springs there is a small amount of tolerance, and a 3/8" difference is not going to throw off your suspension or anything. Just keep in mind these springs are for a 1,500 lb axle and each spring is rated for 750 lbs so please just be aware of this and make sure your don't overload the springs.
