What Else is Needed to Mount ARB Universal Bracket

Updated 09/05/2024 | Published 08/29/2024

Question:

Hi there do you guys sell the mounts to attach your roof rack awning to a 2015 Chrysler Town and country van? I am aware you have: ARB 813402 Universal Roof Rack Awning Bracket Mount. But wouldnt I need in addition other mounts to attach to the factory installed Van roof cross bars? Hope this makes sense. I included a picture from ****** to describe what Im looking for if I end up purchasing one of your awnings. Please confirm with part number Thanks man! Dave

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the photo, and while I can't post it I can tell you exactly what was used there for the mounting on the crossbars, and that was the Universal MightyMounts for Yakima Roof Mounted Accessories # Y03590.

Just keep in mind the crossbars on your 2015 Chrysler Town and Country can only be up to 4" wide and 1-1/2" tall to work with the ARB Universal Awning Bracket # ARB57FR.

We've also never tried this so I need to mention I don't know for certain if this will work for your application, though it does seem likely.

In that original picture I sent you it looks like the mighty mounts are mounted so the universal mounts are angled upwards so they can clear the rack. Are you seeing that too and how did they do that?

@David I did see that and I think it may just be the angle of the photo or one of the bolts tightened a bit more on the further side, best I can tell.

@KyleS Yeah that's what I thought too. Maybe an extra bolt and I didn't know if you knew of any capabilities or modifications that the bracket was capable of. I know you can't recommend modifications that the manufacturer doesn't recommend, etc. Thanks again for your reply
