Question:
I have a shorelander boat trailer 2022 Model: YAV46TELWMS1-00 for my Yamaha SX210. Brake calipers recently seized corroded solid so looking to replace. We mostly launch in salt or brakish water. Will the DE42FR or DE62FR fit my trailer? Is the DE42FR adequate for launching in saltwater or should I pay the extra to get the DE62FR? Thanks Bruce

Hello Bruce; I wasn't able to find out what kind of axle or bolt pattern you have on your 2022 ShoreLand'r YAV46TELWMS1-00 so you will need to identify it to see if these will fit. Both of these DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kits are designed to fit a standard 3,500 axle with idler hubs that have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.
I would definitely choose the # DE62FR with stainless steel calipers over the # DE42FR since they will primarily be used for salt water applications. This will help prevent the issue you have now with your current calipers. However, even with the stainless steel I would make sure to give them a rinse with fresh water when you're finished.

Hey Bruce, how did things go with the DeeMaxx disc brake kit for your ShoreLand’r trailer? Were you able to confirm your axle and bolt pattern and get the stainless steel setup working? Your update could make it easier for others who launch in saltwater too.
