Replacement Option for Torsion Axle on 2002 Pro Craft Boat Trailer

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 08/19/2024

Question:

I have a 2002 Pro Craft 190 bass boat with a pro craft trailer. Need a axel replacement. Axel is a torsion axel. I would like to have a complete axel with wheel hubs there are no brakes on the axel and it has a hump in the middle of it.

Hello Gilbert; torsion axles are not something we carry so we won't have a direct replacement. What I can offer is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension which fits any frame width. This acts just like a torsion axle without the need for an axle beam. If I had to guess you either have a 2,000 lb or 3,500 lb axle on that trailer but you will need to identify it. If it is a 2k you can use the # A20RS545 and for a 3,500 lb the # A35RS545. Both of these come with idler hubs that have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.

Hey Gilbert, did you end up trying one of the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension options for your Pro Craft trailer? It’d be great to hear if the fit and ride matched what you were looking for. Your update could make it easier for others replacing a similar torsion axle.
