Differences Between Marine and Standard Hydrastar Actuators

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/14/2024

Question:

How is the vented HS381-8067 actuator different than the HB16 actuator? In the descriptions they both show they have a vented side plate. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out, Doug!

The different between the Marine Hydrastar # HS381-8067 and the Standard Hydrastar # HBA16 is that the Marin version has upgraded marine-grade gaskets and stainless steel hardware so it's better suited for areas where a lot of moisture is in the air.

I'm not sure why the "vented" part is featured in the title, but the difference is the hardware.

Hey Doug, did the marine-grade hardware on the Hydrastar actuator end up being the difference you needed? It’d be great to hear how it performed compared to the standard version. Your feedback could help others deciding between the two.
