Does the Lift Assist Strut of MORryde StepAbove Only Work on One Side of Step

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/07/2024

Question:

Can the Strut be relocated to the other side of the steps or can you buy steps with the shock located on the left side of steps looking at it from inside?

Hey Ray, the strut that is on the MORryde StepAbove steps like the part # MR85RR can only be installed on the right side of the step as the needed bracket isn't on the other side of the step.

Hey Ray, did you end up keeping the MORryde StepAbove steps with the strut on the right side? Knowing how that setup worked for you could help others deciding on the same steps.

I ended up removing those steps and went completely different route.

@Ray what did you end up going with? My parents removed their StepAbove and went with a regular stair step outside their RV as they wanted normal size steps.
