Is There Adapter to Use Demco Hijacker with Road Armor Pin Box

Question:

Hi Bud, It looks like Cougar uses a Road Armor 5th wheel hitch on their 23 MLE: If I did need an "Adapter" what does that look like? Do you have a link to one on your site? Also, there should be no issue using the 21K version of this Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch with trailer that may only weigh 11,000 or 12.000 pounds? Thanks, Jeff-

Hey Jeffrey, since you have the Road Armor pin box the correct capture plate adapter for the Demco Hijacker is the part # DM6171.

There also is no reason a higher rated Hijacker couldn't be used with a lower weight trailer.

Ok, this is getting to confusing. #DM6171 does not look like an "Adapter". But doesn't the #DM6171 come with the "Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Ram Prep Package - 21K Item # DM89GV"?? Jeff

@JeffreyW I see what you mean now. So the # DM6171 is the adapter to connect the head of the hitch to the pin box on the trailer. The Demco hitch part # DM89GV is a version of the Hijacker that comes with the adapter plates that attach it directly to the OEM pucks of your truck.
