Will Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack Work on 5th Wheel Trailer With Ebikes

Question:

I am looking for a bike rack for the back of a 5th wheel trailer. The manufacturer indicates that the max tongue weight is 300lbs. We are looking to put 2 bikes on the back that weigh about 62 lbs with battery probably remove battery for hauling. The bike model is a Mokwheel Asphalt ST. Based on reading the QandA section, it looks like the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2 Hitches - Frame Mount is the only rack that will work. Assuming that is the correct rack, I believe that we will need Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar - Small - 22-1/2 - 30 for each bike size the ST is a step-through frame. Hey Jeff,

You can definitely use the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # S94FR on the back of your 5th wheel and will definitely work with your 60+ lb ebikes as it is rated for 70 lbs per bike on the back of your trailer.

And you're also correct that because your Mokwheel Asphalt has a step-thru frame you will indeed need the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 so you have a horizontal mounting point for the frame hook to attach to.

Hey Jeff, how did things go using the Swagman E-Spec rack with your Mokwheel Asphalt bikes on the 5th wheel? It’d be great to hear if the frame adapter bars gave you a solid fit. Your update could make it easier for others hauling similar e-bikes.
