Troubleshooting Stabilizer Jack that Clicks Instead of Operates

Updated 07/31/2024 | Published 07/29/2024

Question:

We went to put our 2013 Open Range 345RLS back in storage today after a weekend of camping. When I took it back, the right front stabilizer jack would not move. Getting a clicking noise. Even with pressure on it up or down. Same issue. Don’t know if it’s related but, this morning, my wife was helping me and once the RV was hooked up, my wife pulled the pin and the leg ped all the way down but, not out. I was able to get it back up. The jacks worked fine otherwise. Any ideas?

Hows the battery? Is it possible it got discharged significantly and that's why it stopped working as what you described does sound like it's trying to draw more amps than are available.

If it's not that it's probably loose wiring ran between the jacks and the battery or a component was damaged and it just can't operate.

Battery is good. All other jacks work fine. I’ve read it could be a fuse in the control panel, each jack has its own fuse. Is that a possibility? It worked earlier that day.

@Mike In general the clicking sound doesn't sound like a blown fuse but I would go ahead and check it to just rule it out.
