Is the 3rd Brake Light Logic Module Submersible

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/22/2024

Question:

I was recommended this part for adding a third brake light to my boat trailer. 3rd Brake Light Logic Module Part Number: PP20-702 I cannot determine if this is submersible and appropriate for boat trailers. Can you confirm? If not, is there a similar product that works off the rear tail lights that is submersible? Thank you

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out!

The 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 is not submersible, but if you tie it into your wiring circuits up closer to the tongue of your trailer you can then run your single brake wire to the back of your trailer and still keep this out of the water.

The only thing that would be better than this is if you were to install a 5-Way onto your vehicle and trailer and then route that wire directly back for the brake light. You would be tying into the brake light circuit on your vehicle then instead of the trailer.

Hey Ryan, how did things go with wiring the 3rd brake light on your boat trailer using that logic module? Your results could really help others trying to keep their setup protected from water exposure.
