Can The MaxxShade Plus Be Mounted Directly To The Vent Garnish Ring
Updated 07/22/2024 | Published 07/21/2024 >
Question:
Sir On the Maxxair Maxxshade plus, I have an existing Dometic air vent in my Airstream. The screw holes for the garnish ring are 15 x 15 inches in both directions. To avoid drilling new holes in my trailer roof, would I drill new holes in the new garnish ring for the MaxxShade plus? Thank you Robert Hazard 661 904-6360

Hey Robert,
The MaxxShade Plus Retractable RV Roof Vent Shade w/LEDs # MA00-03901 has two sets of mounting holes that you can use to mount the shade to the garnish ring instead of drilling into the roof. You will need to notch out a little hole in your current garnish to allow for the wiring from the shade to pass through.

Thanks Kevin So can I drill new holes in the new garnish ring That match the existing holes in the existing garnish ring ? That way the mounting screws will go through the new holes in the new garnish ring and pass through the existing holes in the existing garnish ring. This way no new holes are required to be drilled through the existing garnish ring or the trailer ceiling. Does this sound like it will work? Robert
