Question:
I have a utility trailer 6.5ft x 16ft. I got it from my grandma, the trailer has sat for quite some time to the point where all tires are deflated. I’m looking to get it back in use. The trailer has the Dayton wheels set up. I’m looking at change it back to normal wheel 6 lug. The only numbers I can find on the hubs are Dexter 8-222. Do you guys have a kit I can buy? Is a double axle, main purpose is towing cars

Hi Alejandro; the Dexter 8-222 was used on mobile home axles. These are designed for one time use and have a bearing and grease seal combination that doesn't match any standard. This means you will have to replace the axles to get it back up and running with a 6 lug wheel.
To find the right replacement axle you will need to know the capacity as well as the length measured hub face to hub face. See the video below which shows how to measure. For the capacity, try checking for an axle tag on the axles. If you can at least find a serial number the manufacturer will be able to identify it. Some axles might have the serial number etched into them so you could check for that as well if the tag is missing.
For example, if you found that the capacity was 5,200 lbs and it measured 89" long you could use the # e55GR you were looking at as a replacement. Then for hubs you could use the # AKIHUB-655-6-EZ-K with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. If you want brakes you would need the # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K instead along with # AKEBRK-7-SA.
