Does It Matter Where The Fuse Is Installed On The Tekonsha T-One # 118617?

Question:
I have a 2022 dodge Durango GT plus black top package, my problem at this time is that once I installed the wiring for the hitch, it doesn’t work. Now I not have the fuse from the kit installed on the back of the car before connecting to the module. Is there any different between the location of the fuse?

Expert Reply:
The fuse should always be put as close to the battery as possible. This helps to protect the entire circuit versus just the Module # 118617. If the wire shorts out before the fuse it is going to use the path of least resistance and no power is going to make it to the fuse and into the module.
