Does Weight of 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon Trailer Hitch Require Tire Settings to Change

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 06/29/2024

Question:

I just received the 76227 Draw Tite Hitch for my 2019 Subaru Outback Touring Model. It is said to weigh about 35 pounds. Is there any need to adjust the recommend tire inflation settings once it is installed ? Are there any adjustments that should be made to the car to accommodate this extra 35 lbs to the rear weight ?

Hey Daniel, thanks for your recent purchase of the Draw-Tite # 76227 hitch for your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon!

Thankfully no adjustments will need to be made to account for the extra weight at the back of your vehicle. You can think of it like loading a cooler in the back of your vehicle; except this "cooler" is actually part of the structure of your vehicle now which will hopefully bring you a little more comfort.

Hey Daniel, how did things go after adding the Draw-Tite hitch to your Outback? Did the ride or handling feel the same once it was installed? Your feedback could help others wondering about the weight difference.
