Why Can't Trailer Axles Just Be Flipped to Change Trailer Height

Question:

Can you invert and run axle as a raise and not drop?

The reason you can't just flip an axle to use it as a rise instead of a drop is because of the bow they put in the axles to help with camber when a load is put on the trailer. Axles are bowed down and flatten out with a load on them so if you were to flip them the camber would be way off. Instead you'd need to go with an over under kit like the part # K71-385-00 for if you have a 3 inch axle or part # K71-384-00 for if you have a 2-3/8 inch axle.

Hey, how did things go with the over-under kit for your trailer axle? Your results could really help others thinking about raising their trailer the same way.
