Looking For Replacement For ProTECHtor LP Gas Detector

Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/22/2024

Question:

Can you tell me what I would replace the one I have with, which is identical to what is in the picture? I have a whole already cut in the cabinet and would like to just be able to install it in the same location. Thank you, Steve

Hello Steve. It sounds like you have the ProTECHtor LP Gas Detector which is an older model that is unfortunately no longer available. We do offer a similar LP gas detector, but it is not a direct replacement. What we have is the RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS34FR. The alarm itself is 4-1/4" long x 2-5/8" wide x 1/2" thick, and it comes with a small 5-3/4" long x 4-1/4" wide bracket as well as a larger 7-1/4" long x 3-3/8" wide bracket so it will work with a lot of different cutout sizes. it sounds like you will need to modify your cutout slightly in order for this to fit. This model has a 5 year lifespan which is pretty standard.

Hey Steve, how did the fit go with the RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector in your cabinet cutout? Your update could make it easier for the next person replacing an older ProTECHtor unit.
