Kodiak Brake Line Kit Leaking at 3/16" Union

Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/12/2024

Question:

Good afternoon. My customer purchased this hose kit for his trailer and being a foot too short I simply ran a hard line to make the difference. Im having an issue with the kodiak side leaking at the 3/16 union connection. I have tried replacing the union several times with no success. Any suggestions? Thank you

As the leak is not caused by the union you will want to check to see if the leak is from the flare on the Lines # 18SI-BLKIT or the actual hose connection. This will help you to determine if the hose needs to be completely replaced or if the flare needs fixed with a flare tool.

Hey, what did you find when you checked the flare and hose connection on the Kodiak brake line kit? Knowing whether the leak came from the flare or the hose could really help others dealing with the same issue.

@RobinH It ended up leaking at every connection point including the kits "Factory flares". I ended up making my own set of lines and completely discarded the kodiak kit completely.
