Question:
2002 Ford f350 Lariat.. Towing 12,000 lb 5th wheel. Which would you recommend, the P2 or P3? Mostly local, occasional out of state into the long, windy, steep, narrow roads.

Hey Dena,
Both the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 and P3 # 90195 are very similar, with the only difference really just being that the P3 has more settings and configurations to play around with and a nicer display. They will both function the same so there wouldn't be a performance advantage for the P3 over the P2. The P3 will allow you to save settings for multiple trailers so if you plan on towing multiple trailers it would be the better choice. If you just need a brake controller for occasional use the P2 would be more than sufficient.
I've attached a short video below that Brad made comparing the the P2 and P3 that I highly recommend checking out.
Both of these controllers can be installed in your F-350 with the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3035-P.

Hey Dena, how did things go with the brake controller for your F-350 and 5th wheel setup? Did the P2 or P3 end up working better for your towing needs? Your update could make it easier for others deciding between the two.
