Recommended Replacement Axle for older Dexter Axle with 75" Hub Face

Updated 06/04/2024 | Published 05/29/2024

Question:

I have a 2008 Snowbear trailer 5x10 2000lb, which have been discontinued. I need a new axle/hub combo. Unless Im measuring incorrectly, Im getting 75inch from hub to hub, and 64inch from spring center to spring center. I can not find this specific axle. I have attached pictures of the axle stickers not very legible. Any help would be appreciated.

Clint, the closest I was able to find to what you measured is the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Idler Hubs # 20440I-EZ-72 which measures 72" from hub to hub center, 58" from spring seat to spring seat center, and has a 2,000 lb weight capacity.

The spring center measurement on this axle is is a bit off of what you measured, but a local welder would be able to remove the pre-installed spring seats, and weld them on at the correct distance to match your old axle.

This axle does also come with idler hubs, bearings, races, and seals for 10" to 13" wheels.
