2005 Freightliner Sprinter 2500 Camper - Will SumoSprings Help With Rough Ride?

Updated 06/04/2024 | Published 05/29/2024

Question:

Hi I have a 2005 Freightliner Sprinter 2500, it has cargo leaf springs in back, by adding these sumo springs will it smooth out the ride? Are the sumo springs in continual contact with the frame and axle, or only good for heavier payloads? Everything I have read points toward the cargo leaf spring that causes rough ride The van was converted into a camper Thx

Hello Paul. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-329-47 will definitely help to smooth out the ride on your 2005 Freightliner Sprinter 2500. These will likely remain in contact with the axle at all times since your camper does have extra weight added to the rear, not to mention any cargo. You are right they are good for heavier payloads, but these are 900 lbs rated springs which I think will be very well suited for your camper which does have some added weight. These will help to eliminate any sagging and it will help to stabilize the ride, especially on turns or when going over bumps.

They are also a super easy add on, so you get great results with minimal installation and zero maintenance. For the # SSR-329-47 you are basically just removing the factory bump stop and putting these in their place. I have included links to a few installation videos below.
