Question:
Hello! Thanks for having a system so a customer can get information on the system.. When ordering a disc brake system what information do you need.. I have a 23 Artic Fox fifth wheel. GVWR IS 15.600lbs. Dry wt. 12,500lbs , 35 foot length., 7k axel , And pull with a 2007 GMC 2500HD .4x4 Has a Duramax LBZ ENGINE. 3,71 rear end. 6 so Allison transmission. But just like to know what information when I order! Appreciate any help you can give me.. I watched a video of a full time RV couple that installed at a camp ground along side a creek in Idaho.. I will have a better place to do the install than that! Any way thank you for your time and appreciate your time. Tom

Hi Tom,
To start we'll first need to determine the compatible bearings/grease seal for your spindle. If you remove the hub and you can measure the spindle with a caliper # PTW80157 at points B, C, and D from the diagram below. You can also look at the face of the bearings and grease seal for their part numbers but the inner bearing will require you to remove pull out and trash the grease seal. Once we know the bearing combination we can look at what rotors/calipers will fit your spindle.
From there you'll need a brake line kit so you'll want to take a rough measurement from the from of the trailer where the actuator will be mounted back to the brake assemblies to see what kind of length you'll need. We offer kits with the actuator and brake lines together like the # HBA16-252-82, but I once we know the bearings I can see which kits are going to fit and be the most cost effective. Either way you'll want a Hydrastar branded electric over hydraulic actuator.
You should already have a breakaway switch/battery but can swap it out with the Tekonsha # 50-85-313 if yours is ready to be retired. After that you'll just need a brake controller that's compatible with electric over hydrualic actuators like # 90195.
This transition is quite a bit of time-consuming work so you'll definitely want a nice large open, clean space to complete this installation. I've attached a help article below that offers some additional information to help with this.
