Adapter Needed to Fit 3 inch Diameter Sewer Pipe to Convert to a Bayonet Style Connection

Updated 05/20/2024 | Published 05/19/2024

Question:

I have a specific use question that I would like to ask. I am putting together a system to tie my 2nd gray tank to my primary flush point. The system will be portable and will be stored under the trailer in a second sewer pipe tube and some storage boxes. It is intended to be set up and torn down as needed. Background: I need to connect a specific Y to my plumbing. The Y is locally sourced at HD picture attached The primary pipe has an ID of 3inch and an outside diameter of 3.5. The Y is a long turn T and has an ID of 1.5inch and an OD of 2. I am not concerned with the Y at this stage, just the main 3inch section. Question: I want to use this part to have the twistable bayonet connector to help with alignment. I would like to glue the end of this connector into the 3inch entry point of the new Y. Will this part work for what I have described? If not, do you have anything you can recommend that I can use that has a twistable preferred but would settle for fixed bayonet connector on one end that can be glued into the Y on the other? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Gary, yes the Valterra Hose Adapter part # T1024-2VP that you referenced was designed for what you are looking for. It will fit into the 3 inch opening of the Y adapter you have now so that you would have a bayonet style attachment for the 3 inch sections.
