Question:
I have a fifth wheel with Dexter 5200 EZ-Lube axles. [Capacity 5145 Dated 4/29/2019 Unique ID: 13217014051 and 054 per tag on axles] I will be replacing the hubs, drums, and nev-r-adjust brake assemblies in the near future. I know exactly what I need for the brake assemblies, but find conflicting details on the hub and drum assembly. My OEM bearings are LM67048 and 25580. I have replaced the seals previously with eTrailer 10-10 seals, but am questioning the correct seal: My Dexter research indicates I should be using Dexter 010-036-00 seals, which cross reference to your 10-10 seals. My concern is that I am finding two specs: one is for 2.125 and another for 2.225 on double lip seals. I am looking at 8-201-5UC3-EZ on your website, which lists the seals provided with this assembly as 2.125 ID, but also shows them as 10-10 Seals, which on your website states they are 2.225 ID. Can you clarify this? Having used the 10-10 seals that are apparently 2.225 on my axles, I am wondering if those seals are too large compared to the 2.125 seals, and could impact grease leak likelihood from the larger ID seals?

Hey Lance, thanks for reaching out!
The Dexter 010-036-00 seals cross-reference to our Grease Seals 10-36 # RG06-070 which have the larger 2.250 ID. This is the grease seal kit you've purchased from us in the past.
The Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-201-5UC3-EZ comes with a 10-10 Grease Seal which has the smaller 2.125" ID.
Since it sounds like you need the larger 2.250" ID I recommend using the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # K08-201-98 instead, which is the exact same assembly you're currently looking at, just with a different grease seal.
Sometimes these hub kits will have the exact same parts except for the grease seal which is why it's important to know exactly what you need (which means you're doing the right thing by reaching out!). If Dexter says you need the 010-036-00 seals, then the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # K08-201-98 is the correct kit for you. If you want to be double sure that you're getting the correct part for your spindle, then you can take a digital caliper and measure your trailer spindle where the grease seal rides so verify what the correct ID of the grease seal needs to be.
