Question:

Hi - I sure could use your help. We are moving to a 5th wheel RV, but need to figure out how to carry two 14foot Hobie Mirage Oasis Tandem Kayaks 75lb each. I think this product is the right solution for me single cross bar, and then front mounted goal post. I might throw a paddle board on top too, and it weighs about 20lb. So total possible weight on the roof/front hitch combined is 170lbs. Truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, 6.5foot bed, naked roof. I have a draw tight front 2inch hitch that will need to be installed. Also, I dont think the tilt option will help me much with loading since I need to load two kayaks. Ive used a Thule crossbar with the outrigger option before and it works great. Thank you, Doug

Hey Doug,

The Rhino-Rack RS 2500 Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # RRRS566B would be a fit for the roof of your 2017 Ram 2500. That along with the Rhino-Rack T-Loader # RTL002 would allow you to haul your kayaks on the front to clear room for your 5th wheel. If you split the weight between the loader and the roof rack the actual load on the roof rack crossbar and loader crossbar is going be less than the overall weight of the item being loaded but there's a lot more math involved in figuring out the exact amount of weight. You'll most likely be under the 165lb capacity of the crossbar and loader crossbar with the weight being split but you'll want to be careful not adding more weight than the crossbars or your Ram's roof can handle.
