Are Two Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tires with 14" Black Wheel OK For 2,800 lb Trailer
Updated 05/13/2024 | Published 05/10/2024 >
Question:
Over a year ago, I bought two of these tires Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire with 14 Black Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C - AM3S451 I probably put at the most 5,000 miles on them. I noticed that the inside of each tire is worn quite a bit more than the rest of the tire. I researched that overloading might be the cause, but my trailer loaded isnt too heavy 2,800. Did I get the wrong tires? I want to get another set, but I wanted to ask first. Thank you! You guys are awesome!

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for the nice words, and the combined weight capacity is 3,520 lbs for two of the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire with 14" Black Wheel # AM3S451.
Since your trailer is only 2,800 lbs when loaded, you definitely aren't overloading the tires and you have the right set. You do want to make sure you inflate the tires to the max 50 psi as underinflation can cause tires to wear more on the inside. The other possibility is your trailer suspension is out of alignment and possibly bent or damaged in some way, so you may want to stick your head under there and take a gander to see if there is a noticeable issue that could be occurring.

Thank you, Kyle. I did look under there, but I didn't see anything that was obvious. It is actually a newer torsion axle the previous owner had installed. When I tow the trailer, it doesn't sway or anything; it's pretty smooth. After work, I will check the axle to see if it maybe has a lower weight rating or something. Thank again.
