Light and Color of Optronics Thinline Amber LED Clearance Light

Updated 05/09/2024 | Published 05/07/2024

Question:

Hello - Im wanting to add side light to my 170inch high roof sprinter van. My primary purpose is simply ambient lighting around the perimeter of the van when parked - a soft glow or accent light at night. A secondary benefit would be side lights for the vehicle. After looking at several of your light options, Im considering the MCL67AB. Heres my questions: 1. Is the lens color more of a dark amber some photos look bright yellow? 2. Will this connect to a 12v electrical system? 3. Is the mounting base come with a gasket. I know the light itself is waterproof, but wondering about a watertight installation of the base. 4. The base that is shown appears to be pale gray. Is a black base available. 5. Would you know how many lumens of light are produced by the 3 diodes in this light. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out!

I'll answer your questions about the Thinline LED Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light w/ Bracket # MCL67AB in order so it's easier to keep track of everything.

1 - The lens color is a standard amber color. The first photo on the product page (which I'm attaching here) is a great example of what it looks like.

2 - Yes, this is designed for 12V DC power.

3 - This bas is just a plastic base, but it doesn't come with a gasket because it's a surface mount installation. With that being said, it isn't a bad idea to use a gasket maker like part # LT37464 around the hardware to make sure water doesn't seep in around it.

4 - The base is actually a black color. The studio lighting where they take the photos is really bright which is probably why it comes across as gray.

5 - I reached out to Optronics about a Lumen rating and my contact said they measure their lights with a Candela rating and this light in particular is rated for 3.8.
