Will a Ball Mount With an 8" Drop Be Sufficient For a 10" Difference In Hitch Height?

Question:
Truck receiver is 2.5inch at 23inch receiver height, trailer is 13inch bottom of coupler height so technically need 10inch hitch but that will create less than 11inch recommended ground clearance with most hitches. Would this 8inch from Curt be adequate and safe for towing being 2inch out of level or less when trailer loaded when towing? Tongue weight will be 420-620lbs, worried it will not create enough spring sag on chevy 2500hd truck to get closer to perfect level.

I do feel the Curt Ball Mount # C45460 is going to be adequate for your situation with the measurements you provided. You will need to pair this with a 2-5/16" # C40030 hitch ball. Also be sure to grab some Ball Lube # 58117 as this is often overlooked. Due to the position of the ball at the rear of the truck it will squat a little more than I think you are going to anticipate.
