Question:

What is the Compressed Length and the Extended Length of the Replacement Dexter Bolt-On Shock Kit for 2-3/8inch or 3inch Diameter Axle - Single Axle Item K71-697-00? Will this item be compatible with a 6,000 pound axle?

Hey John,

I reached out to Dexter and they stated that they don't have these measurements for the Replacement Dexter Bolt-On Shock Kit # K71-697-00. I was able to get my hands on one and get the fully retracted length (pictures below), but couldn't get the extended length without having a trailer to mount the brackets to and half install to measure it. 6K axles are typically 3" in diameter so this kit would be a compatible fit. I've attached the installation instruction link below to so you can see how these mount.
