HI, Im looking for a replacement brake actuator for my 1995 4 Winns, single axle, drum braked boat trailer trailer model DO3916 What do you recommend?

Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out!

The Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-00 is a great option for a replacement actuator because it's a direct replacement for the common Model 60 actuators that were popular in the '90s.

I'm not exactly sure what model actuator your trailer came with but This one has the bolt holes measuring 3" apart on center and it fits a 3" wide channel tongue so if those specs match what you have then this will fit like a glove!

Thanks for that information, I notice your recommendation doesn’t have a lockout option; does this mean I’ll need to put different brake drums on?

@RichardT You can either swap out your brakes to ones that have the free-backing feature, or you can add the Solenoid # T4748800 and Solenoid Cover # T4835800183 to this actuator to have an electric lockout system.

@RichardT For a 3.5K axle you need the Hydraulic Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D, and for a 5.2K - 7K axle you need the Hydraulic Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-7-D.
