Will The Bauer Door Lock BA64FR Work With A 5" Wide 4-7/8" Tall Cutout?

Question:

The hole in my horse trailer door is 5”x47/8”. The door is 1 1/2” thick. Is there enough overlap for this latch to work? The current latch is a Tri/mark 1993/72130. It’s a Featherlight Trailer if that matters

Hello Doug. The Bauer Products Motorhome Door Lock # BA64FR is definitely going to be your best bet for replacing the latch on your horse trailer door. This latch is made to fit a 5-1/4" wide x 4-1/2" tall cutout. With your hole being only 5" wide you may have to enlarge it slightly in order for this to work. Aside from that there will certainly be enough overlap for it to work. The overall dimensions of the face of the latch are 6-7/8" wide and 5-1/2" tall, so it will easily cover the cutout.
