Can I Use A Piece On Angle Iron To Attach The Brophy Scissor Step AS04 To The Sub Floor Of My Camper

Question:

Hi, on the AS04 Brophy stairs could I mount the bracket to an angle iron mounted to the bottom sub floor of my 2001 Lance 815 truck camper, there is not enough room to mount your bracket to the lip of the doorway, so it needs to be mounted below with an angle iron attach to the bottom of the camper?

Hey Robert, that is an interesting question. While the Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS04 are generally not installed in this way, I see no reason why you could not use angle iron to attach the bracket to the sub floor. The sub floor should be plenty strong to support the weight of the step. As long as you have your angle iron attached securely to the sub floor I do not see any issues with doing it this way.
