Will the Thule Tepui Work with the Thule SquareBar Evo

Question:

Hello, I have a Thule roof rack system with the Thule squareEvo bars. I have just bought a Thule tepui Ayer 2 rooftop tent and am looking to see if my current bars would be compatible. When looking at the product it shows a 220lb capacity but I wasn’t sure if that was static or a dynamic rating. The tent and all persons combined weigh roughly 400lbs. If I need to upgrade my system what bars would work best. If needed I can send pictures of mounting system

Hey Andrew, yeah the 220lb capacity your bars are referring to is the dynamic capacity - so while the vehicle is in motion. When stopped the weight capacity is going to be likely around triple that since the weight won't be moving and be directly supported by the axles. So, long story short - your bars are all good and will work fine with your Thule Tepui!
