What Color Wire Typically Carries the Running Light Circuit

Question:

I have a 2022 Kia Soul and there are 2 wires each side Grn/Blk left light and Brown/Blk Right Light which of these should I use for my running light connection?

Hey Bill, based on traditional trailer wiring colors the brown/black wire would be the correct circuit to use for running lights but I would recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to test this circuit for voltage when the running lights are on.

James, Thank You for your reply but you missed the actual question. There are 2 Green/Blk wires in the left light assembly and 2 Brown/Blk wires in the Right light assembly. Each wire goes to a different pin. Which one on each side should I use? With an ohm meter they appear to be connected together in the light assembly perhaps they doubled up to supply the current for the incandescent bulb?

@Bill That is an interesting situation. I would put a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 on both wires to determine what circuits each wire carries and go from there. Manufacturers are very efficient with wiring nowadays to cut costs as much as possible I would be shocked if the same circuit was ran to both wires.
