B&W Turnoverballl BWGNRK1384 - There Are Wires Obstructing The Handle - What Can I Do?

Updated 03/13/2024 | Published 03/04/2024

Question:

I bought a gooseneck hitch BWGNRK1384 from yall for my 16 Ram 2500 shortbed. The hitch itself fit well, but were having problems with the latch pin. The handle is prevented from unlocking by a thick wire loom on the frame. And if you try to lift the handle up and over the loom, then the handle starts getting into the brake lines above it. There isnt room to reroute the wires and weve triple checked that the handle and bracket are oriented the right way. Is this a common problem in these? Is there a workaround?

Hey Travis, so this is certainly not unheard of with these Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitches on a 2016 Ram. Step 4 of the instructions calls this out and I have attached a screenshot below. Basically you should be able to remove a few fasteners and pull a bit of wire out of the frame.

Thanks! I don’t think my instructions listed that step.

@TravisB The instructions we had on file didn't mention it either. This was sent to me directly from B&W so it may be a recent addition.
