Can 16 inch Trailer Wheel/Tire be Upgraded to 17.5 inch Diameter

Question:

I need a full set tires,rim still ok, 2012 redwood 36re, has 16inch everything tires sidewalls dry rotted, want to upgrade tires and wheels to 17.5inch ,lippert ir and discs later, on when budget affords upgrade want rims that will accommodate upgrades will shackles have to be lengthened before ir upgraded for tire clearances prior to suspension and brake up what hardware do u recommend? Lippert ? Please advise K

Hey Karl, so as long as your current wheel bolt pattern is 8 on 6-1/2 inch you can mount a 17.5 inch wheel and tire like the Westlake 215/75R17.5 part # LHAS701. The width and diameter of this size is going to be right at the same as your 16 inch setup so you'd have clearance as-is.

You wouldn't need to upgrade your current hardwdare.
