Question:

Another question for you kind Folks regarding our 2023 Honda Passport Touring Edition Canada EH, LOL! I wish to install an Auxiliary Transmission Cooler to Safeguard our new SUV while TOWING Da Wife would kill me otherwise any suggestions appreciated as I know the SUV can reasonably tow the 5,000 lbs BUT just to be sure. Hey Bobert, thanks for the follow up question about your 2023 Honda Passport Touring Edition Canada EH!

I recommend checking out the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets # D13503 for your towing application. We don't have any that we've confirmed to fit a 2023 Passport but coolers are essentially universal so you'll just need to make sure you have enough room for the 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep cooler.

The absolute best location for the cooler is in front of the engine right behind the grille for best airflow but since each engine bay is different I've attached a help article and some diagrams to help assist in your installation.

Hi again Jon. I'm still working on the passport towing project Transmission Cooler. I checked the Honda OEM but the price was INSANE. I did however look at the installation PDf and watch the installation video and it's kind of crazy as well which causes me to wonder if the Derale would be a good match. Your thoughts. P.S. The hitch is installed and the Hands-Free rear hatch works perfect. Regards Bob

@Jon Thanks for reaching back out! The Derale will work great in place of a Honda additional transmission cooler. It isn't meant to replace the initial OEM cooler so if that's what you're asking then it's good to know that the Derale is designed to work with the original OEM cooler as opposed to being a standalone cooler if that makes sense.

Hi Again Jon No I didn't mean utilizing the Derale as a replacement for the Main OEM Cooler but as an Suitable Substitute for the Insanely priced ( In MY Humble Opinion ) OEM Trailer Towing Auxiliary Transmission Cooler . Do you good folks have any of your Great Installation Videos Available showing installation on Honda OR perhaps ACURA ( Same Difference LOL! ) Thanks Again To You And All the Good Folks At E-Trailer for Prompt and Very Helpful Advice. @Bob Glad to hear it! And no, you aren't the only one with the opinion that the OEM parts are insanely priced. This is unfortunately a thing they do with a lot of their parts, and these parts typically are on par or worse than aftermarket alternatives.
