You could try and use the Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950 which would get bolted to your tongue after the coupler. It doesn't look like a whole lot of room, but since that gap sits 29" from the hitch ball and you have at least one inch of space this'll work.
To find the right WDS for your system you are going to want to load your trailer up as if you were setting off, and get the fully loaded tongue weight. You mention its 775 lbs dry, so I'd imagine being in the neighborhood of 800 when it's loaded.
If that's the case the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET would work great. this WDS has a max weight capacity of 10,000 lbs and a max tongue weight capacity range of 600 to 1,000 lbs putting your potential tongue weight right around the middle which is ideal.
