Question:
I need help finding the correct weight distribution hitch for my v nose trailer. I have pictures of the trailer. It has welded on brackets that are 30" back from the center of the hitch ball. What do you recommend?

The brackets welded to the frame appear to be standard hangers for a chain-style weight distribution hitch. Since the brackets are 30" back from the ball, I recommend using the Reese Weight Distribution System # RP67509. This requires the brackets to be placed exactly 30" back from the ball so it will match up nicely. Instead of using the brackets included with the hitch, you will simply slip the chain link into the welded bracket.
The Reese Weight Distribution System # RP67509 is intended for trailers with a tongue weight between 400-800 lbs. Our rule of thumb is that tongue weight will be about 10% of the total weight of the trailer. So based on the 7,000 lb GVWR of your trailer, it stands to reason that you will be within that range at all times, regardless of what kind of items you happen to be hauling.
You will need to purchase a hitch ball separately. For that I recommend part # A-90 for a 2" ball, or part # A-6 for a 2-5/16" ball.
