Is it possible to not use the mounting hardware and instead use a strong, double-sided adhesive?

I mean in theory yes, you can use some double sided adhesive to install the Vehicle Mounting Bracket Kit for Thule HideAway Awnings # TH1500602390, however since it's not been tested or tried in that way, we can't guarantee how it'll hold up long term like if you were to use the mounting screws.
