Troubleshooting Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack with Excess Movement In Hitch

Question:
Hello. I have installed a Stealth Hitch on a 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron and using it with a Thule T2 Pro XT. I have noticed that the receiver 2in sticks out a few inches from the end of the bumber. I also noticed that when carrying my bikes the rack vibrates and wobbles a lot more compared to my old car Audi Q7 with manufacturers 2in hitch and same bike rack. The only noticeable difference is that the hitch on the Q7 was closer to the rear bumper. Could this further distance be the cause of the increased wobbling and shacking? I am not an expert in physics but would assume that the further away from the car the rack is the less stable? The bikes felt more solid when carried on the old car. Or is it more about the Q7 being a bigger car and maybe different suspensions? Thank you

The Stealth Hitch part # SH34FR that fits your 2023 Audi e-tron sticking out past the rear of your bumper a little more would not cause a significant difference in the Thule T2 Pro XT # TH83JV bike rack's stability. What I would try doing is getting the anti-rattle device of the rack a little tighter and that should help. One tip for this would be to crank with one hand on the the anti rattle knob while moving the rack with your other hand. This does a great job getting that last bit of movement out.
