Troubleshooting Curt TriFlex Brake Controller Not Recognizing Trailer When Connected
Question:
I put this on a 2006, dodge ram 2500 Laramie. Used the TriFlex controller and the dodge adapter supplied with the purchase. I cannot get the controller to actuate the brakes on the trailer. I have one red LED light saying it’s in standby. I cannot get the controller to have two lights saying that it’s ready to use.

It sounds like there may be a damaged wire on your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie. Since the Curt Triflex # C24VV only has the single red light we know the controller is getting power but with the 2nd red light not illuminating when connecting to the trailer the brake wire portion is not completing the circuit. You can use a Test Light # PTW2993 to check at the connector to verify if the damaged wiring is on the truck or trailer. Then you can move in either direction with the test light to determine if you can find the damaged wire otherwise you may want to take it to a repair facility if you are not comfortable working with electrical wiring.
