Question:
Hello, I have a 2011 Rockwood Freedom 1970 Pop Up Camper with Carlisle ST17580R13 load range C. It is a 5 bolt 4 1/2” diameter on the bolt pattern One of the tires blew and separated coming home. I was hoping to increase the tire size but there is only about 1 1/2” clearance on the wheel wells. What could I look at for either a heavier rated tire and or a more of an off road tire and or a blacked wheel? Trying to dress it up a bit and improve the load rating as I hate having trailer tire problems!! Thank you!

I recommend using the Kenda Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Black Mod Wheel # AM31990 on your 2011 Forest River Rockwood Freedom 1970 pop up camper. These tires are the heavier rated D range which is good for up to 1,610lbs per tire. The Tire # AM1ST77 itself also carries a 5-year warranty from the manufacturer. Since you only have the 1-1/2" of clearance I cannot recommend moving to a larger size wheel or tire.
Be sure to use some Tire Covers # 290-3974 to protect the tires from UV damage which can cause them to dry rot more quickly and lead to blow outs.
