Will this tow bar work on a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500? I would purchase base plates.

Yes, I looked up the weight of your 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 and since the max weight it can be configured as is 4,784 lbs the 5k Blue Ox tow bar part # BX7322 would work. The correct Blue Ox base plate kit to use with this would then be the part # BX1682.
