Question:

Hello I was wondering if hydraulic drum brakes are compatible with any actuator or if I need to purchase the same brand brakes as the actuator? Also I was wondering If a 6600 lb actuator can be used for two axles ? Will this essentially put 3300 lbs on each axle instead of 6600 on one axle? Help is appreciated thank you!

You are able to use any drum brake actuator with your hydraulic drum brakes. The manufacturer for the brakes does not need to match the actuator manufacturer. You do need to ensure the actuator is rated for the weight rating on the trailer. This is required as the shock and master cylinder are paired to provide the correct amount of braking force.

With an actuator rated for 6,600lbs it can be used for either a single 6,600lb axle or dual 3,300lb axles.
