Can I Hook Up A Back Up Camera To My Running Light Circuit
Question:
Can I hookup a back up Camera with a Solar Panel component to the running lights on the back of the trailer. The camera is a Vekooto SW5-1 with a built in battery and solar panel. It would have constant power with Solar running during the day and the battery and trailer current at night.

It is possible to hook up accessories such as cameras to the running light circuit. That said, I looked up this Vekooto SW5-1 camera. It has a built in rechargeable battery, and comes with a charging cable. The specifically state that there is no need to run additional power wires. I would not recommend modifying the camera in any way. Honestly I would not recommend buying an inexpensive camera like that in the first place. We do not sell Vekooto cameras here, and you really will get what you pay for.
If you want to wire in a camera I recommend going with a top quality camera like the Furrion Vision S # FOS05TASF. This is a wireless backup camera system that includes the camera, all necessary hardware and wiring for installation, and a 5" full color monitor. We have found the Furrion camera systems to be extremely durable and dependable. The wireless camera has great picture quality and sound.
