Question:
Hi there, What do we need to change our boat trailer from a hydraulic to electric? Its a 2002 Tricker Trailer. We tow it with a 2006 Duramax Chevy. Main concern I have is changing the coupler on the tongue. Thank you

Replacing the coupler on your tongue is going to less complicated than you may think. Based on images I could find for your 2002 Tricker Trailer it appears the coupler surge coupler simply bolts in place. If you measure the bolt hole spread and width of your tongue I will be able to verify a coupler like the Demco # DM13203-95 can be used.
As far as switching to electric brakes you can switch out the brakes and run wiring or use a kit like the Drum # HS481-8065 or Disc # HS481-8067 brake electric over hydraulic conversions. These kits will give you the better braking you get with hydraulic with the usability of electric actuation. If you wish to move to electric brake assemblies I will need to know what size brakes and spindles you have to verify all the parts you will need.
