Where to Install Breakaway Pin and Flat Tow Wiring Connectors on a 2021 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

I have a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I have just installed the Roadmaster RM-521451-5 baseplate kit. What is the best way for a neater look to trim the fascia to accommodate the wiring plug mount and a Brakeaway switch? From the pictures that I have seen, the end product isn’t a very clean look

The best way to trim the front fascia on your 2021 Jeep Cherokee when installing flat tow equipment is to use a chalk marker and mark the fascia first. Hold up the piece that needs to be installed next to the fascia and then figure out which exact honeycomb pieces you need to trim. This takes all of the guesswork out of the installation and leaves you with a clean-looking installation.

Attached is a photo of how we did this with the breakaway pin for the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 on a 2021 Jeep Cherokee.

If you're wanting to install them underneath the fascia it can be done, but it means those parts are more likely to be damaged from road debris since they'll be hanging right below your vehicle.
